We t’s an hour or so after midnight on New Year’s Day 2020, and a blast of revellers is collecting in an alleyway next to KFC on London’s Old Kent path. They pass between heaps of vehicle tyres and through a space in a gate the place where a combined team, covered with caps and scarves, are using ?5 records from every person whom goes into the yard of the recently abandoned Carpetright warehouse.

In, the lights take and sets of partygoers are huddled in groups talking, waiting and smoking being a behemoth sound system and makeshift club are built against one wall surface. Across the street, in a bigger abandoned warehouse m.sexier.con which was previously a working office Outlet, a level larger audio system will be built.

There’s an awareness of expectation because the warehouse fills up with mohawked punks, tracksuited squatters, crusties, rude guys, accountants, graphic designers, pupils, and grey-haired veteran techno heads. We have all get together in search of the same: per night of noisy electronic music and dance with no constraints of a regulated evening club. No closing time, no gown rule, no age restriction, no queries from the home.
